Case Studies

I’ve been working for over 15 years in the fulldome and immersive sector by supporting businesses in funding, market research, strategy, sales and distribution. Below are a few examples.

Festoon (software)
In 2020 I helped to bring this software to market along with a small team. It’s a solution for animators wanting to work in the fulldome industry, but who have no access to a dome to review and test their films. I manage the business side: writing the funding bid, doing market research and handling marketing and distribution. This was funded by the Innovate UK Audience of the Future fund, with the team comprised of Arcus Immersive and our developer Philippa Day.

Festoon Software eliminates the need for a physical dome or planetarium so you can develop and test your shows remotely, bringing your team together from anywhere in the world.

Moonraker (fulldome film)
I have been working with the BAFTA award-nominated Moonraker since 2021 as Executive Producer on their first-ever fulldome film, Moonbase: The Next Step. The film is available for licencing beginning December 2022. I sit on the advisory board for Moonraker.

MOONBASE: THE NEXT STEP is the story of this human endeavour, pushing scientific and technological advances to the limit. The film explains the science and technology for this brave mission to happen, including surviving the 250,000 mile journey and the hostile, alien conditions of reduced gravity, extreme temperatures and toxic lunar dust. Follow our story filled with awe, danger and trepidation, and share the wonder of the lunar environment made for 360 fulldome format.

Climate Crimes is a large-scale immersive fulldome video installation, which explores the complex relationship between global air pollution, climate change and human migration. Featured in the Future Starts Here exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, Climate Crimes is a collaboration with Dr Adrian Lahoud with Max Crow of NSC Creative, architect Kamil Dalkir, sound designer Mike Wyeld and technical partners GaiaNova.

Climate Crimes was awarded ‘Best Short Film’ at the 13th Fulldome Festival (2019) at the Zeiss Planetarium, Jena, Germany. Climates Crimes is included in ‘Official Selection’ at the DTLA Film Festival (2019) and DocLab IDFA (2019)

Kinetarium
I worked with Michael the CEO of Hall to help him understand the market and help him get introductions with planetariums to help him test his content.

Embodied Sounds
I’m managing all their sales and producing market research.

Their experience: Creating immersive mindful experiences to support our wellbeing by building connection back to nature.

A soundbath experience begins with each person lying down or seated in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and an eye mask. After a few minutes of guided focus on the breath, the remainder of the experience is filled with different sounds and frequencies being introduced in succession.

The sounds introduced during a sound bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness, an opportunity to unplug from external stimuli and to gain perspective on what’s going on within you.
